Feeling Frustrated

Frustration often appears when you care about doing something but it is not working yet. Your feelings can be big while your choices stay gentle.

What frustration can look like

Stuck

A puzzle, skill, or task may take more than one try.

Interrupted

A changed plan or waiting for a turn can feel unfair.

Discouraged

When effort is tiring, you may feel ready to give up.

Try this now

  1. Calm the body first. Unclench hands, breathe slowly, or take a short movement break.
  2. Make the job smaller. Choose one tiny next step rather than solving everything at once.
  3. Use a helpful phrase. Replace "I cannot" with "I cannot do this yet; I can ask or try differently."
